Lying for hits?

I don’t understand why this isn’t getting more coverage. This is surely not a way to improve your site hits with anything beyond surface success. It’s also a waste of either trained journalists or giving work experience kids a really disillusioned start to their careers.

I know many say print readership is on the decline (whether you agree or not), and so website opportunities should be seized upon to provide breaking news and different ways to interact with readers, but this is not the way to go about it.

While your readership figures may, on the surface, appear to have increased. Eventually people will realise you’re full of it and stop coming at all. To be honest, it serves them right.
